Parkrun is a series of free weekly open-air events, organized by the volunteer community around the world. In Moscow, the Parkrun five-kilometer races take place every Saturday across 18 locations, including Angarskiye Ponds, Bitsa Forest, Chernevskiye Ponds in Yuzhnoye Butovo, the Kolomenskoye museum reserve, Kuzminki Park, Mitino Landscape Park, and Sokolniki.
In order to participate in Parkrun, you need to sign up in advance on the website, get an individual barcode, and take it with you to the race. The hosts explain that speed does not really matter here: Parkrun is more of a community where you can find like-minded people, learn something new, and get in shape. Participation as a fan or volunteer is available as well.
