Uhvat's main concept is "Modern cuisine cooked in a Russian stove". The stove in question has a custom design, allowing the chefs to combine centuries-old traditions and gastronomic innovation.
The restaurant has its own culinary philosophy: the key belief is that it's possible to make Russian cuisine trendy and modern even when following ancient cooking methods. Most dishes are left to steam in the stove for several hours. The restaurant bakes its own bread (including pumpkin and buckwheat bread) every day. The bread is served with a complimentary hors d'œuvre: a "candle" made out of clarified butter.
You will find the Uhvat restaurant in the historical building of the Trekhgornaya Manufactory. The interior is simple and elegant: a spacious hall with high ceilings, elegant columns, tall windows, and designer-made crystal chandeliers.
There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant offers a children's menu, as well as children's entertainment services over the weekends.
