Assunta Madre

A gourmet fish restaurant

Assunta Madre is located in a historic building on Povarskaya Street, not far from Patriarchs' Ponds and Tverskoy Boulevard. The interior of the establishment plays with a Mediterranean theme: the fine wood trim, pictures in golden frames, and grand piano in the center of the main hall recreate the atmosphere of a cruise ship. In the summer, guests can sit on the veranda in the inner court, from which they can see the Stalin-era skyscraper on Kudrinskaya Square.

The menu is composed of classic Italian dishes, and the chef (who changes every few years) puts special emphasis on seafood items. Fresh fish is delivered to the restaurant every day, so guests always have the option to order the dish of the day. Among the unique options, you can find Neapolitan octopus salad, sole with lemon and olive oil, white fish tartare, and scallop ceviche. A selection of white and sparkling wines will help you to better reveal the taste of fish dishes, and the dessert menu includes traditional Italian sweets: cannoli with curd cream and tiramisu.
