The restaurant on the second floor of the Lotte Moscow hotel was opened by Italian chef Carlo Cracco, the originator of the eponymous Milanese establishment awarded two Michelin stars. In his Moscow project, Cracco has preserved the best features of an authentic Italian restaurant: the main national dishes, a modest interior complete with mosaics and geometric patterns, and Italian pop music playing from speakers. The display windows offer a picturesque view of Novy Arbat and the Garden Ring.
The menu features unique interpretations of traditional Italian dishes, the cooks use carefully selected ingredients, and the concept is complemented by spectacular presentation. There are eighteen items on Ovo’s menu, and three of them are exactly the same as dishes from Cracco’s Milan restaurant: pickled vegetables with egg and orange cream, grilled smoked rack of lamb with eggplant and Italian sauce, and seafood risotto. Some dishes are plays on Russian cuisine, and only domestic products are used in their preparation: the menu includes cannelloni with Kamchatka crab and potato tagliatelle with asparagus and sturgeon caviar.
