One of Moscow's oldest confectionery and chocolate manufacturers with a history of over 200 years. The facility currently makes confectionery products for several Moscow-based companies — for example, Krasny Oktyabr moved its shops here when their production facilities on Bolotny Island were closed.
Babayevsky confectionery plant offers regular tours for groups of schoolchildren and individual visitors. At the beginning of each tour, visitors learn about the history of chocolate, its varieties and types, and how it's grown. After that, they get to see the production workshops and witness the full cycle of making sweets and chocolate bars, from molding to packaging. You can taste the chocolate at each stage of production, including the finished product and the chocolate mixture that later becomes the base for most products. The tour ends at the plant's Chocolate Museum, where visitors learn about Babayevsky's history and see rare samples of confectionery (some of which date back to the 19th century). At the end of the tour, all visitors receive a box of chocolates as a gift.
The tour is 1.5 hours long and requires pre-registration (online or by phone).
