Krasnaya Presnya Park of Culture and Recreation is the preserved garden of the old Studenets manor house of the 18th and 19th centuries. Its name is derived from the creek of the same name, flowing along Krasnogvardeyskiy Boulevard and in former times known for its clear water. The manor house was designed by the famous Swiss architect Domenico Gilardi, and contemporaries called the manor “Venice in the gardens.” By the middle of last century, when the park took the place of the manor house, the original architecture had been lost, but the natural ensemble — ancient alleys, picturesque Dutch ponds with islands and arched bridges, as well as the fountain Octagon.
Today, Krasnaya Presnya is a quiet and comfortable neighborhood park with lime alleys and extensive green spaces. Here, you can play table tennis, do street gymnastics on the exercise machines and in the workout area, do yoga or Qigong breathing exercises. And the best part is that all the necessary equipment can be borrowed for free.
